Vanilla tuxedo skates1/31/2024 They're pretty solid skates and should last a while. They are low cut without a lace flap which I dislike, but it at least has the strap, so you can maybe tuck in your laces there. Pretty basic build but gets the job done. Not a whole lot to say about these skates really. The bearings are fine though! Overall these skates are ideal for an indoor skater who wants a high boot with decent support but still some mobility. I recommend people pick up a set of bones 98a wheels immediately after purchase. They are too hard for most outdoor uses (ironically not too bad for parks) and too soft for most indoor uses. The nylon plates and metal trucks on the fames are actually pretty damn good and should be just fine for most users, especially compared to most nylon plates. The construction is pretty solid and should be just fine for indoor and outdoor skating, however I wouldn't use them for park skating because the vinyl will rip on concrete. Sure-Grip Fames are a fantastic starter high boot. Overall these skates have a ton of color options and tend to be built pretty well. The stealth, Rosa and code blues have a thicker hub that tend to hold together much better. The silvers, code reds, mints and tuxedos all have wheels with thin hubs that tend to break under repetitive high impact- so for you jam skaters out there you probably wanna stay away from those colorways. The bearings are VNLA brand but seem very comparable to basic bones bearings- so they're good! The wheels are actually dependent on the color for some reason. The trucks are decently constructed, and rarely brake even under the harshest repetitive impacts. The nylon plates aren't the best nylon plates by any stretch of the imagination, but they're just fine for anyone who weighs under 200lbs. They have a well built and sturdy yet flexible canvas top with a lace flap. You should be able to pick up a pair between $220-$250 from your local rink or online. line of skates is honestly my personal favorite. Okie Dokie, after my previous passive aggressive post about skates that suck, I thought it would be great for me to make a list of $200 that don't suck! This will be an opinionated (but completely correct) list of skates in the $200 range that are actually pretty good for the money.
